Happy New Year!
Relics is starting this lovely Newest Year with a creative twist and a creative challenge!
Relics recently acquired a vintage set of encyclopedias. Every home seemed to have a set- but due to the invent of the laptop, the computer and wikipedia- most people have gotten rid of their old fashioned trustworthy hardcopy books of knowledge.
So we wanted to do something special with our set.
This year the word for Relics is Create. We made that our resolution, to try and make our lives more creative- so we are extending and offering the challenge to all of you as well....
Our Set of Encyclopedias has been renamed "The Encyclopedias of Lost Mischief" we are housing the set at Relics- each volume can be checked out like a library book- we ask that you fill a page with one or more of these things-
1. Drawings
2. Paintings
3. Collages
4. Poems
5. Random bit of art
6. Anything that makes you feel creative
Starting on Monday January 16th- there are will be the set of 21 books to check out at your leisure- your goal is to do 21 creative project over the next 12 months. One or more for each book in the set. You can keep the book for up to 10 days. You don't have to sign your work if you don't want to- if you want to leave a random bit - that's ok too- If you get through the set and want to do more- feel free!
Next January- we will have them displayed at a First Fridays Gallery Event somewhere in Peoria. They then will be donated as a collection to the Peoria Historical Society.
So get thinking- get creative- come join the fun!
